Description & Care:

The Ficus elastica "Tineke" is a Rubber Tree variety that resembles another variant, the 'Ruby Pink', with the main difference being the green-yellow and white variegation.  Growth can be upright and bushy.  You can prune the plant at the start of the growing season to manipulate its growth pattern!  Care is similar to other rubber plants, but the variegation requires more light than the "Burgundy' variety. Although it can adjust to lower/average light environments it won't do well in low light conditions. 

Light: It will thrive and be its happiest in bright indirect light! 

Water: Keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering by allowing the top inch or two of soil to dry between waterings.

Humidity: High

Feeding: Fertilize during active growth which typically occurs during the spring and summer months

Propagation: Cuttings

Common Pests: Look out for mealy bugs, spider mites, scales, and aphids

Toxicity: Ficus elastica is a source of latex that is toxic to the skin, and poisonous if ingested, so pet-owners and those allergic to latex should be cautious
